Both the ones I fitted on boats were fine & never gave any problems. It shouldn't be possible to ever get a back feed from the loo, & nothing on the system ever gave me any concern with this.

Germs and bacterium can leech back without any actual back-feed of water from the loo.  I'm not saying the percentage risk is great, but I prefer 100% no risk.

i cant see it there is no water storage on loo whatsoever. it has no cistern.there is as much risk of Germs and bacterium finding their way to your wash basin by flushing any loo wether the lid is up or down. that why they say keep your toothbrush at least 6 foot away from a flushing loo.how many have a seperate cold water feed to their loos in their bathrooms none probably.how many folk still have header tanks in the loft, dead flies and god nows what else in it.so thats the water they clean their teeth in unless they use kitchen sink as thats normally off the rising main. think i will be safe.
