How do you remove the central drawer unit to make up the big double bed - is that a feature, or a bit of diy?
What are the options with the water supply - can you set it up for external only and miss out the internal tank, or is it always via the internal tank? I wish I could say I understood the warning about the method of filling up the internal tank - I'm warned, though.
After years of waiting and planning, we can't wait to have our own '470' - it's the only 'van that's ever really appealed to us.

The chest comes out without any alterations, you lift the front edge of the drawers and the lip at the rear unclips from the plate fitted to the wall. The only problems are storing the corner ushions and the chest, at night, we put the cushions on the sink and the chest on the unit by the door. You need the two roll cushions to fill up the spaces left when you put the cushions together, but since they fit where your feet go younare unlikely to ever notice them. The result is a very comfortable bed as you sleep lengthwise along the seat cushions, it means no climbing over each other if you need to get up in the night. This works for us as with a flat screen TV we do not want it out all the time so the TV live in the wardrobe and takes about 30xsecs to pull out and plug in when wanted.
The water supply is very flexible, you can choose to use the internal tank or not , having once found a dead mouse in the aquaroll we choose to use he internal tank all the time. I fill the tank once a day which gives us 45 litres available plus whatever is left in the barrel, to do this it is necessary to plug the extrenal pump into the socket provided, put the water tube into what looks like a petrol filler pipe, and whilst holding the pipe in place turn on the external switch ( if you don't hang onto the pipe the pressure is sufficient to ensure that the pipe comes out of the tube and inevitable fires a fast flowing jet of water at you ). When the tank is visibly full you turn the switch off and store the pipe away. To bipass the interal tank you put the pump in the barrel, plug in the electric lead, then plug in the water pipe and set the switch inside the van to use the external pump. The possibility of damage to the seals comes if you have connected the pump up in this way and then use the external switch to turn the pump on, at that point unless one of the taps inside the van is open the pressure on the non return valve seals in the system which keeps the internal tank circuit separate fom the external tank circuit is great enough to destroy the non return valves and if this happens then neither of the systems will provide water at the tap.
Enjoy your 470 our new van has given us 9 years of pleasure, unless I think about it I still consider it to be new and everything works just as it did on the first day we had it.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Just got back from looking at the caravan in Lincs..rubbish specimen actually. Chunks out of it everywhere, obviously very well used! Shame is, we looked at one last weekend that was perfect but older. Thought we would look at this first then make a decision. You've guessed it! The other one is now sold!
