I usually like to go with the colour coding on the caravan as a general guide so the caravan and awning become a match if possible. If you look at my profile you will see I have a Dorema full awning in green which matches the caravan but I'm not keen on the grey and black awnings at all really. Green at one time used to be a popular colour and that's probably because it blends more in with the landscape but it doesn't seem so popular these days. If I had a choice between grey & black or burgundy & maroon it think I would tend to go with the latter but it depends how fussy you are with matching other items too such as chairs and table etc. because black and white are primary colours with grey being in between the two so with these colours anything goes basically. I bought my awning new from the Dorema factory clearance at just under £400 last year which is a size 10 (900 cm) which we are pleased with for the money.

We do colour co-ordination too. We have a Pageant S7 van which has blue decals, so it's blue awnings for us - see gallery images. We've always had green before, so I thought a change of colour might feel odd. In fact, blue i a nice fresh colour, and not at all cold (which is what I was initially concerned about).

We also had a Bradcot awning for our old caravan which was in Blue and light Grey and to be honest we quite liked it but amazingly so did a lot of other people as well. Maybe it was different because most awnings at that time were either Burgundy or Green with Blue being the latest colour on the market. I would have had Blue again actually but I didn't think it would match the caravan like I said in my previous post. I think the worst colour that's ever been produced is Brown and many years ago there didn't seem to be any other choice apart from this gordy colour. Basically it's a horrid colour and have you noticed that they rarely produce cars in chocolate Brown these days because it's not a very attractive colour at all.
