I bought a REALLY GROTTY second hand one for a tenner, proper waste master, same company as aquaroll. Bottle of bleach and warm water till about half full. Put caps on tight gave it a really good rattle. Left for an hour.............. Repeated 3 to 4 times then filled completely up to the top with hot water, left to stand for a couple of hours then emptied. Came up like new bargain for a tenner and 50p for the bleach
I just wash mine out with a strong jet from the hose. I then leave the caps off to allow it to dry out.Once dry the caps go back on and no smells. If you put the caps on your bound to get smells from the water left in from cleaning because you can never get it all out and it goes stail.

i also soak hot bleach in it
Bleach is killed at 55 - 60 degrees.
If it can't be cleaned with Jeyes fluid, it probably can't be cleaned at all. Don't use bleach any hotter than you can hold your hand without scalding or it is useless.
Be careful with bleach in caravan waste pipes. I made the mistake on my old 'van and it caused the pipes to powder and I ended up with waste washing up water in my cupboards.

For caravan waste pipes I use a couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda, washed down with a few tablespoons of vinegar. You can hear it fizzing all the way down. Then some hot (not boiling) water to rinse and all is fresh again.
I only use a little bucket for waste water, so that's easy to clean!
