So sorry to hear your woes.
We've towed that road from California Cross and were terrified! The cars really belt around.
Hope you get it sorted quickly.

police, and ambo involved - but they said there was nothing they could do as it was technically a 60 limit.
so what, 60 is the MAXIMUM limit for the whole road, doesnt mean to say that 60 is safe and reasonable speed for the road and conditions
quoteth from the highway code
"125
The speed limit is the absolute maximum and does not mean it is safe to drive at that speed irrespective of conditions. Driving at speeds too fast for the road and traffic conditions is dangerous. You should always reduce your speed when:"

his line "i drive this road every day, and know it well" .
and that statement if on a par with "I didn't see you" after hitting a cyclist/motorcyclist"

You would have to be seriously stupid to drive those roads at that speed. Anybody stating they know the roads well should have their licence removed as it shows a total lack of basic driving skills, ie expect the unexpected and if you can't see ahead you moderate your speed.
I hate narrow Devon roads because of pr*cks like him. You just do not drive in that manner. What a mess Jasie, how will you get home?
just watch the towbar has nog got damege/ bent/ and the car whare it bolts on to ? get it looked at, im not that happy that it will be ok m8 all the best to you,
sorry to here this..i live by these lanes and drive them most days...very dodgy...i am afrayed this wil be knock for knock with the insurence it allways is everytime and all the time..no matter how did what its allways knock for knock
OMG that is scary. Sorry to hear about the accident but the main thing is that no-one was hurt. My husband was knocked off his bike last year and suffered an open fracture of his tib & fib 5 days before we were due to set off for Scotland on our 3 week summer holiday. The driver was driving without a full license and admitted that he hadn't seen my OH. He was found guilty only of driving without a full license and there were no other witnesses to the accident so they couldn't make reckless driving stick. Our consolation was that he had probably spent 8 months terrified that he was going to have the book thrown at him.
This would be one of my worse nightmares. I hope you get home soon. You deserve some good luck
it seems that the insurance dont recover the caravan, but "may" settle this afterwards. So out came the credit card, and £300 lighter we arranged our own recovery back to the nearest repairer, which fortunatly is where we get it serviced anyway.
Sorry to about you accident we have the same van, we have mayday green flag cover for about £65 a year you wouldn't have to pay anything, i know about 4 years my car broke down in north wales got transported back the recovery driver said it would cost about us £400 if i wasn't covered so 6 years cover paid for by 1 breakdown you should look into it it might save you a fortune.
We have a quattro and green flag (CC mayday) but have never had to use it yet, except when we managed to lock our keys in the car. Didn't know it was possible till it happened.
check the policy -
i have the green flag policy - but as the car was fine they wouldnt touch the caravan.
i have since read my caravan policy from end to end many times - i know i'll get the £300 back, but i wasnt certain of that at the time,
it was really the finding a local co to do it for me was the problem....that was after 2 hours of phone calls with the insurer, their unerwriter, the loss adjuster etc!
Ouch, thats a bad hit so sorry for your beautiful van
Theres no doubt about it, the innocent victim always suffers the hassle and expense. I expect the lad will have trouble getting insurance again, and cost him a fortune
Really hope it gets resolved quickly and you can be out on the road again v soon.
