That's not an option for some ppl, myself included! Paying the fees for storage would mean no holidays!
Glad you got it sorted, OP. I bought a Mr Shifta to get mine back on the drive, second hand off Ebay, it has a separate battery which requires charging only now and then and does the job reasonably well.

I appreciate your probs, but that wasn't what the OP asked for help with.
It must be awful having to pay for storage. In my case I'm disabled, goodness knows how many trips I'd have to make to pack it ready to go, as I tend to put a bit in each day for a week or so before I get away!
#Birder - I decided to have the winch at the caravan end because it gives me the opportunity to steer the caravan a little, which proved useful.
#oldchap - got the winch plate from Towsure but their max capacity hand winch is 500KG (although it says 1500KG breaking cap, their tech support said it is only for a 500KG caravan) and I didn't want to rely on batteries.
As for paying for storage - a year's storage would cost more than the caravan cost me 5 years ago and its been through the trauma of being turned over on the A361 since then
and, apart from the cost, I'm with jax365, it would be a total pain to have to pick it up from storage each time I need it (had it with a relative for a while and it was just too inconvenient) - I use it for work so I need to go back and forth during the summer.
