Had blow out on French motorwy in June, at 60 on caravan. Loud bang and I stopped in very short distance. tyre a complete wreck but no damage to van Tyre did not leave the rim. My tyre man was not surprised as he says he has to use a 2 ton press to get tyres off the rim to fit new ones. Will not be fitting tyron bands.

when we had a single axle we had a puncture at 60 MPH the tyre was shredded , i just took my foot off the gas and cruised onto the hard shoulder , the outfit behaved inpeccable , i didnt have tyron bands , and i still dont see any reason to buy any

From what I've been told, only specialist tyre fitters have the machine and expertese to repair tyres with tyrons. They seem to be few and far between and come at a premium. A decent quality van tyre is the better route imo.

You gotta have van tyres by all accounts.  Even then, the quality varies according to price.  Trouble wi caravan tyres is they don`t wear out.  They just run out of time . . !

No you don't need specialist machines yes there is attachments that make it easier but I have fitted many with normal tyre machine
