We have one of these made out of acrylic never had a problem
With leaks or wind and last year we certainly had some rain

We bought a Mira 390 same as the encore, great wee awning, had it up last year in snow and storm over easter, which saw several other awnings destroyed, however despite our fears during the night our awning was perfectly intact in the morning.

The sunncamp platinum encore us a brilliant awning. We have it for 4 yrs now after trying quite a few and this is definitely the best.   The added annex is great for our dogs. It has held up to some horrible weather of late, with heavy rain and gale force winds on top of coastal oaths in Wales
If anything was to happen to it would definitely purchase another
