The issue of vans on the drive and burglary has been raised on here many times before.
For myself, we live in a small village with a very low crime rate so the risks are much lower. Frankly I go away and don't worry about it.
My parents lived in neigbouring town, didn't have a caravan at all, cars parked on the drive and were burgled twice in three years, once when they were abroad on holiday and once at knifepoint when my father was watching Emmerdale!
Sometimes in life, you just have to weigh everything up and take a decision on things.

They would be hard pushed to steal ours, not saying they couldn't, if they really wanted it but not only would they have to walk up our drive past our front window they would then have to go through and unlock 6 foot double gates, into the back of the garden ( theres no way out of our back garden its just trees and scrub) but that time I hope they would of given up but if not they would then have to remove the post and then the hitch lock and wheel lock, we live at the end of a culd e sac, so not a through road, and unless you know the van is there you cannot see if from the front of the house. Hopefully that will keep it safe, but its insured so there's not much else I can do, I don't worry about things like that, I refuse to live in fear of what ifs, the same applies to house burglary, I'm just living and enjoying the now.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.

Yeoki you will love keeping it at home. We like you had half our front garden put to driveway and now it is big enough to have the van at home with cars in front of it. The benefits to me outweigh the disadvantages. I love the fact that I can wash the van or polish it at any time, take it out at short notice for a weekend away and when coming back can actually go home with it, not have to go miles off route into storage. We keep power to it regularly like Michael, makes a good emergency sleepover facility for a relative if they come down for a weekend etc. As for security on the drive, there have been caravans stolen from some storage compounds and if like us you have some neighbours around us that are home during the day who 'miss' nothing I feel the caravan with its multitude of locks it safer on my drive with two cars in front of it at night and one during the day is safer at home than in storage. of our
