With caravans the age of the tyres is just as important as the amount of tread left 9as some vans don't cover many miles so can have healthy looking tyres which are actually perishing due to their age and exposure to the sun - or so I'm told!).
You mention that the tyres are two years old. This is easy to check as tyres have the date of manufacture on them (I think some might have a code - not sure but I'm sure someone can advise). A quick check is all it takes - if they are way over two years old then you probably need to question the other claims the seller is making.
Hope it all works out and you have a genuine seller (and welcome to this forum!).
