I've got one with a front window - it leaked !, conventional layout, very comfortable double bed - stay support broke and smallish toilet/shower area - shower cubicle wall has sprung so doors don't close properly. And others to many to mention.
I'm good with my hands so as you say plenty to keep me busy. When I'm finished it will be more fit for purpose the when it left the factory !.
I am one of the few Stealth Intrepid owners out there and have had no major problems since buying this van in Jan 2012. I like it because it's different and not the usual chintzy same old clones that most caravan manufacturers seem to churn out. Its a shame the company did not conduct itself better otherwise it would still be around. I will continue to keep and enjoy it and am not concerned about its value. I do get a bit cheesed off with people on these forums slating the Stealth's off. Due to the rarity of these I doubt the people that mock have ever been in one.
Yeah, still got it. Its up at Turriff Caravans having gotten remedial work done to the various damp issues it has including the leaking side window, Various other work to the inside has also been completed. The delay now is that it appears Dunster House haven't kept any spare parts and the ones they sent up don't fit !. Thi includes the shower door which is cracked because of an insufficient stay which allowed to swing about whilst travelling. The door they sent up doesn't sit in the frame or close when in use. Turriff has reported the problems to Dunster so we'll have to wait and see what their solution is.
All this work has been done under warranty and yes I'm looking forward to using it again this year !
I like it, your making dunster pay at least , Are they still making the newer one? (I can't remember what they called it)Anyway don't feel too bad all our windows on one side leaked, Shower door fell off overhead locker door fell off and door under sink the hinges broke but apart from that....
I've still got my Stealth, we passed one on the road a couple of weeks ago only the 2nd one we've seen in the 4 years of ownership!.
side window continued to leak despite remedial work and I had to fix a perspex screen between the bed and wall - wife's side!. However after a bad shower of rain i used waterproof duct tape on the roof joint and the leaks stopped!. it looks like the original mastic was at fault all along - there's a surprise!.
Contacted Dunster House who weren't very helpful until I reminded them that it was still under warranty!. I now have to produce service records which they never asked for before - that isn't a problem but annoying as I still haven't got my replacement shower doors!
Thought I'd give you guys an update. Still got the Stealth. Dunster House is no longer cooperating!. Still haven't got a shower door - bought a plastic shower curtain in the off chance we would use the shower. Resolving the water egress problems - cost me £1850 earlier this year to get the whole offside and half the roof re masticated. Have to save my pennies to get the other half done.
I was surprised when looking round an Adria dealer to be offered a fair trade in price against a new caravan - because according to sales staff Turriff Caravans were doing the servicing and repairs on the Stealth.
Alot of you will be asking why we still have it - well it is very comfortable and tows like a dream despite its weight and reading the horror stories with regards to other makes makes me realise I would just be changing one set of problems for another set.
Thanks for the update, often wondered how you got on with the Stealth as I can remember reading your posts earlier on.
Honestly don't know how you didn't bite the Adria dealers hand off when he offered you a deal, after all you've been through with that van I would have imagined you would be delighted to see the back of it.
Yes , there might be a few horror stories about other makes but there are a lot more happy customers than dissatisfied ones. It's mainly the ones with problems that you've read about. At least with Adria the manufacturer is still in business.
Anyway, good luck with your ongoing repairs, I really hope you manage to get it fixed up the way you would like it to be. You have a lot more patience and tolerance than I would have.
