which layout have you got?

We have gone for the fixed bed on the offside also we have upgraded to leather,I have spoken to the supplying dealer he says because the tv and locks are specified with the unicorn then I should leave them in,but I might keep the avtex tv and replace it with a cheap one from tesco...........

we have the same van then, But i did love the swift conqueror 645.island bed.Had it for 2 yrs,I found the side bed is hard work to make up in the eldiss. But enjoy I took the wine rack and the white glass door out and put a tv there as well as one in the bedroom, just that the wife watches different progs, so i have the h/phones on.Other than that, great van heating is fantastic.massive bathroom too.

We have never used it on 12v only on 240v better a tv than no tv at all
Just had a thought the dealer cannot supply a secondhand 240 appliance without a electrical safety test,

For me whatever came with the van goes back with it ... so for me it would be TV, Alko lock, mains cable and step.

If you bought a good step change that for the one in the new van as that will be a standard plastic step

As I understand it whatever was fitted by the manufacturer prior to delivery is part of the specification of the van and should be left with the van when sold. Anything bought by the original owner and fitted as an extra by the dealer or the seller belongs to the seller. I have a dealers T & Cs and the conditions on there are that the manufacturers fitted items should be included in the sale/purchase, if they are not then some mutual agreement should be reached between the seller and the prospective purchaser. I suppose that the buyer could demand the van has all of the factory fitted items before buying, but this is obviously not always possible especially as a van gets older. If I was buying a second hand van that was only 12 or 18 months old though I would expect all the factory fitted items to be included or I wouldn't buy it, unless the seller knocked off enough money to allow me to replace the items if I wanted to. As far as I'm concerned when a van is advertised as a such and such then that is what they are selling, not a such and such with this and that missing. As someone posted earlier you wouldn't buy a second hand car if the spare was missing or the radio had been removed so why buy a second hand caravan if the same has happened.

The Al-Ko lock is registered to you anyway, you may need a new lozenge for it to fit your new van but I wouldn't be leaving that in the van. As far as the other items are concerned, check the standard spec of the van being traded in and hand it over with nothing else.

It must be a bonus for some dealers when owners hand in trade ins, cars or caravans etc & leave lots of things in them. I wouldn't give them any more than they'd give me.

Our first van we bought from new so had everything with it. A few months ago we traded it in for a yr old Conqueror 645 which had the radio, battery and Alko wheel locks missing. We got a radio and new battery from the dealer but obviously still no Alko locks. These items were either removed by the original owner or the dealer. Oh and i got them to give us a hitchlock in with it too.
Don't worry about leaving in what comes with the van because clearly people don't. I kept the original winterhoff hitchlock from my Elddis even though it came with the van and won't fit the swift.

Having bought and sold 11 caravans in my 30 odd years of caravanning, I have never left the battery in or bought a caravan with a battery in. The only equipment I included was one caravan when I thought I was going to stop caravanning.
