using when the temp gets to minus 10.this is so your fridge is not overcooling.in winter they keep out the dust and rain/leafs when parked up and possibly insects too.

..winter......I think Michael left that word out. When it gets too cold the condenser fridge that we have in our vans will not work as the cold air can cause the fridge to over cool and freeze all your food / milk etc. The covers keep the area warmer to avoid this.
The covers can also protect the metal parts of the fridge, if your van is left over winter in an exposed or salty location then vents can be beneficial in protecting those parts from the adverse effects of driving wind/rain frost etc.
