I agree with how nice it is . But for me I can't cope with the dark. After about 4.00 it's dark and yes not much house work but just sitting in a box kills me. I can't sit for that long . No where to go and nothing to do until about 9.am as much as I love going away I can't cope with the sitting around in a confined space. So what do you all do.
The last time we went in the winter. I used the evening to cook dinner. Then walk back and fore to the toilet block a few times. Then went to bed ealy. Roll on Easter.
Lots of things you could do. Go to the pub, read a book, watch telly, play cards, listen to radio, find a leisure centre and do an activity. we try to do things that we never have time for at home.
We would love to be away too.have a van sat on our drive we havent used yet..collected it on a saturday ..exchanged car on the monday..without a towbar untill feb/march ..boo hoo !

We were away last weekend in our 15 year old van, warm as toast with the heating on even though the temp dropped to -4 below. There were 3 other vans on the CL we were using.
Have just booked to go to Whitemead, Forest of Dean next weekend - can't wait! Pick up the new van (Unicorn 2 Cadiz) on Monday - will be sitting in it on the front drive every evening next week no doubt!!
Decided to join CMSA which seems a ridiculously good offer. Would cost £60 for the weekend (2nights) but as members it will be £30 - only £17 to join. If we recommend someone else to join we get £35 back in vouchers.
Just hope the weather will be as nice next weekend as it is now!

We have plumbed in water, the owners supply post has built in heaters apparently so the supply to it does not freeze and our filler hose has been lagged. Lovely and warm in our van. Agree with the toilet door comment though..
Which CL is it? Are you willing to tell me sounds like a good one to me and we are always looking for CLs in Lancashire?
HAPPY!!!!! Just confirmed we are spending Christmas in the van. My parents are due to complete on their house sale so will have no-where to hold a family christmas.
So it's going to be our first ever Christmas in a caravan.
Best buy some extra Gas so we can cook a gorgeous dinner, whilst overlooking nothing but fields and horses.
I feel like a kid all over again, really excited for christmas this year!
A nice early morning walk through the forest followed by dinner and another walk in the afternoon. Then just the two of us in the evening to do whatever we please, with no knocking at the door lol.
This makes great reading. After being under canvas for 7 years we've just committed to a seasonal caravan pitch from March through to December. Our plan is to be in the caravan as much as possible!
.....just need to find the right caravan now!
Any tips for first time caravaners then please let us know!
Can't wait to be snuggled up with a glass of red, my kindle and for it to be snowing outside!

Embrace winter. It will happen nomatter what. Wear thick socks, travel with red calor bottles and ehu and enjoy the luxury of your van in the cold. We do, and we love it!!
