Debbie ..ive just been stood in the van ...arial booster in wardrobe turned on ...oops..now green charger light..is that the pic with caravan and battery ?  wont turn on now when i press it ...led screen shimmers and then all power goes off ..Battery flat...main screen showing internal temp..time and date..it says in book ..if there is a mains supply and charger is working the display will show the icon ( lightening) and it does... not sure what way to turn....is it a new battery or both ......moneyihaventgot.com 17

Hi VONC,

as you know, i'm new to all of this myself, but is the black button on the Power Control System.

(under the seating-Front locker) turned/pushed  on ?

Also do your lights work when you push-on the power (control panel above door) ?

Yes ..all power to the lights..but hook up is still on ..hopefully i can get in there in the daylight today....i hate this..not understanding...my son tried the tv when we 1st had it and didnt turn the airiel burst off in the wardrobr..that wont of helped ...mind you if battery has gone so flat..will we be able to revive it..and Andy how did your 1st adventure go ? ...

If its a sargent charger under the front seat there is a black button to turn every thing on or off also it will tell you the charge of the battery by pressing the little yellow button by the screen What year is the conqueror ?

Thanks ..2008..i think ive hit lucky..i remembered a neighbour worked on the electrics etc for avondale etc a few years ago..he came and hsd a look...he is going to bring his tester from work and he has still got contacts in the buisiness...and because he knows what he is doing he is going to sort it.....he cant look untill next weekend ..battery charger isnt hot but is doing something ? ..so van is going to be left on ehu untill then ..he said the chsrger isnt the best mske and swift tend to use cheaper parts....!!

Well it gets better...ive been in the van on the phone to an engineer...because 12v lights go off and come back on on when battrry chargrr is turned off and on ...they say it is the battery..so 1st port of call is a 110 amp cranking leisure battery ....£90...cross all fingers it is only that and not the charger..ill keep you all informed..and thank you ..it is reasuring that there are still some helpful people around x

Not actually used the van yet but you have gained so much valuable knowledge. Isn't caravanning fun! Hope it all works out......it usually does and you will have a good old laugh at spending that £90.

Have a look in Lidl for a charger. Not sure if they have them at the moment but there is a lot of stuff on here about them and the value for money. I got one last year and it's been great knowing that the battery can be kept topped up.

when we went to get the new battery..I was told that they had a customer who has had his battery for 8 years and it has been kept in good condition by charging it up every 6 - 8 weeks...had a quick look in aldi saturday....couldnt see anything but keeping eyes peeled....what sort of price are they ?
