Halfords car shampoo and polish with any car polish used one from lidil last year before I put the covers on never had any problems I always polish the windows again with whatever car polish i have not scratched them yet in 6 years
The roof on our ranger is very strong so I have a board and a piece foam that I kneel on to allow me to give the roof a good clean and polish obviously I keep to the edge but it certainly makes cleaning the roof a doddle
Hi all , I have just done my van with TFR (traffic film remover) 9:1mix , wet the van down first then sprayed van with TFR , used soft washing brush and rinsed came up really well .
If you google showroom shine and scratches there are enough people reporting scratches to be wary.. Which stands to reason, how can either wax or silicone based products stop grit and sharp deposits from biting into the paint as you wipe it over your paintwork.
Simple answer, it will reduce scratches but not stop. people are reporting on line the need to rinse grit off first which makes sense.
Cue jj to be along any minute to refute those claims

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Because we find it difficult cleaning the roof and can't do it that often we wash it with auto glym wash then I put bobby dazzler on the roof . I think it helps it a little.
We have not cleaned it through the winter it is green and we are going away in two weeks so we need some nice weather and a bit warmer to clean it.
Went to wash mine today but had an accident carrying the caravan battery and ended up in a&e for two hours and a £95 Bill for a new battery it's now on hold till next week!

How does it work. Why doesn't the sharp grit scratch the paint when pressure is applied with a cloth. I cant think of anything that could coat sharp grit which would stop this, so the web claims of scratches make sense.
Silicone is probably the best thing that I can think of for this and that couldn't stop it, so what's the ingredient which does this.
Hi Tony,i saw it on tv and could not believe it either.Behind my back the wife ordered some and on that day it arrived went out to my pride and joy my jeep.
It was needing a good wash as it had the dust and grit from the guy next door who was cutting slabs.
I said to the wife,if that stuff scratches that bonnet you will be going in for an operation to learn how to walk again.
She sprayed it on and waited a few secs then wiped off.
It was amazing, not a scratch and what a shine.
The stuff wraps its self round the dirt and this is why it dont scratch..technology Tony.
You have to wash the van first then apply, thats how it seals and protects. If you use some thing like fenicks again you will take it off.Just use SRS after that.
I keep punting this stuff on here as its the dogs...not meant to cut the GPR or the paint work but meant to clean and shine.
It contains carnuba wax as far as i know one of the most expensive waxes in the world..thats how it shines.
JJ So you have to wash the van first before you use SRS for the first time? And how much do you need for an average size van is the litre bottle enough?
Also you must have to keep changing the cloth or wash it I assume otherwise you'd be wiping with dirt??
Our van is dirty and yesterday we put it on our seasonal pitch, we haven't managed to wash it due to the weather and we're not supposed to wash on the pitch so no idea how we will clean it, particularly the roof!

Hi Catie...a litre goes a long long way.My vans 25ft and a quarter of the bottle does it.When i say wash i mean that the van is REALLY bad with fungus and dirt.
My mate uses nothing else bar SRS all year round but where his van is it doesent get the same muck on it.
After raving about it theres bound to be some one who has just cleaned their van with that alone on here..hope this helps..
Ive seen us using just the one cloth to put it on as the word they use in the ad is to encapshulate (if thats how you spell it)the dirt.
