hI guys,

after recently having out first trip in our first caravan and having the fright of my life,

I am curious to see what people think about ATC.

On my trip to Scarborough coming up the A1 the van started snaking after overtaking a lorry. As my first proper outing I did the worst thing and that was to put foot on brake as my mind went blank.

eventually got the van under control.

I spoke with my local caravan dealer and they are quoting almost £600.

Is there anything else on the market that will do the same job?

I suppose £600 is a lot of money but not compared to safety of the family and caravan.

would welcome views

thanks in advance

I know of someone who has a brand new one for sale still in its box and I think they are selling for under £300. They were going to fit it on their caravan, but then traded in the caravan for one that had the ATC built in. If you are interested respond and I can arrange contact. I have known the seller for a number of years as he is a friend.

Hi Surfer

Thanks for the offer but I think will get the main dealer to sort even at £600 at least that way there will be warranty and can trust them to fit properly as I would have absolutly no clue

Another way is to buy it and give it to the dealer to fit as the warranty on the goods will still apply as the item is still boxed and unopened. I cannot see then charging £340 for labour alone.
Alternatively phone around some other dealers for a quote to compare as £600 does seem on the high side. Just a thought.

Hi Jason,

If your interested I have an Alko ATC for sale. I bought it to fit to my caravan but then realised I needed the next weight model up so had to buy another one.

The ATC, I have for sale is for a caravan with an MPTLM 1301kg to 1500kg. These are easy to fit I have fitted mine and also my brother-in-laws caravan. If you are uneasy about fitting it yourself you can ask one of Alko's recognised fitting agents to fit it for you.

I paid £250 + £10 postage for the ATC, and that is what I would sell it for. It comes with everything needed to fit to your caravan.

If you or anybody else is interested in this ATC, you can contact me on my email address: graham.burton at talktalk.net

Cheers

Graham
