I'm new to towing only towed my caravan to 3 sites and back and to be honest I had one little wobble on a windy Severn bridge but apart from that not a movement and I don't have a stabilising bar or hitch and at the moment I'm perfectly happy not buying one either. As long as you take your time and load correctly there wont hardly be a movement.
Thanks for all info.....unfortunately we are now trying to swap my partners van (berlingo van) for a diesel car with a towbar and its taking time....thankfully the lady selling the caravan hasnt got fed up with waiting for us yet but i suspect she might think we are wasting her time :-(

ask about if its had the head gasket done because it is very common on freelander /rover engines personally I would say clear have a look on freelander forums before you buy sorry to give you bad news
