You'll find that the window frames come apart into two sections, the bottom section is the larger U shape piece, this parts from the top rail and any broken glass can be removed quite easily. I found that clear Perspex from B & Q was the correct thickness and made an ideal substitute for the glass. The van I refurbished some years ago was a 1962 Sprite Alpine. There are a number of breakers where parts can be found, a lot of which were generic to most of the Sprite range: Major, Musketeer, Alpine, Cadet, 400 also the Europa and Fairholme ranges. All these were built at the CI works at Newmarket. Good luck with the project.......Mick

Thanks Mick,
On further inspection I have noticed that the plastic around the aluminium from has infact perished, not too sure what I am going to do about that. Will cross that bridge when I come to it I think. Thank you though Mick. I really was worried because of it's age it would have been a huge problem getting frames or windows for her. :)

I'm helping my girlfriend renovate her 1960's Bluebird Eurocamper. The handbrake looks as if it needs replacing (lever badly bent along with bolt that attaches it to frame). Anyone know what vehicle the handbrake actually comes from, where I can source one and how easy they are to fit?
Any advice and information that would help us renovate it would be greatly appreciated.

With ordinary glass in the windows just be careful when manoeuvring the van. When I was a kid in the 1960s I was helping my Dad push the van and my hand went straight through the toilet window and made quite a mess of my wrist!
I was about to say the same thing. My first van was a 1960 sprite alpine and my husband did the same whilst moving it. He severed an artery and ended up in hospital. If your children will play in it,it needs to be toughened glass.
