I was asking this last year and after a lot of thought I bought a 19 inch.
Now I am sorry and wish I had bought a 22 because with flat screens on some angles you don't see a clear picture we sit on opposite sides of the seats. We had either a the front window for our tv or a cupboard near the door. I prefer the front for the same reason I don't get a clear picture if its not so near.
22 inch I think is better.
You can buy mine from me and I will get a new one if you like.
Also I wanted a DVD slot for films .

Thanks for that. I think i will have a look at the 19" Kogan but i could do with one with a USB input
If you Google it, you will find there is a well understood ratio between viewing distance and ideal screen size to suit. Given then a caravan restricts distance to circa 6-8ft, the smallest screen sizes will be best suited.
Found this out buying a new TV for our lounge, originally had a 42in which I replaced with a 40in. For such a small change in overall size, I was surprised it was much better where I sat and better still were OH sits some 4ft further than me from the screen.
All to do with how the eyes and brain work together, I understand?!
As regards not getting a clear picture from the side, this is down to the 'viewing angle' and is stated on a TV's spec. You can assume it is not going to be at it's widest on the cheaper new ones, but, even the cheapest today are far better than several year old TV's!

I have a 24'' with DVD, VGA and USB in the front of the caravan and a 19'' with DVD in the bedroom. The bedroom one is mainly for grandchildren. When we have them it helps to occupy them in the evenings and my wife can watch her soaps.
Fred.
19" Techno from Tesco in our 2 berth. We also plug in the laptop to watch films and my son uses it to play on the x box as well.
Had it for at 2-3 yrs now and its fine!
We have a 22 inch LCD - bought it from Currys last month. Built in freeview. Didn't go with built in DVD as chap in shop said they tend to break down more as the DVD can make the telly overheat. Got an absolute bargain at £149 - a Panasonic which was £100 off. Can take my laptop to plug in and play films if required. Was going for 19 inch but so glad we got this one now.
Picks up all the freeview channels (so far!) through the status ariel with fab picture. Obviously can't run off 12v but we don't intend pitching anywhere without EHU so that isn't a problem for us.
