Buy a Floating van (boat)they don't leak
Don't you believe it! Maybe not underneath, or you will soon have a submarine, but windows are notorious for leaking, as are hatchways, deck fittings, and all sorts of other usually inaccessible places! We have had boats for years, but are now returning to caravanning as there are only so many times you can go up river, or down river. Unless you want to got to sea of course.
We have enjoyed our boats, but locks without lock keepers are hard work when you are no longer in your prime, like us. Also, the river/canal licence is getting horrendously expensive, as is diesel now that the tax rules have changed. Petrol is virtually unobtainable on the rivers and canals, and carrying jerry cans into town to find a filling station is no fun.
Having said that, our boat will be on the market soon!
------------- Best Regards,
Colin
