The train station for the SECC is really close to the SECC building itself. Consider parking near to Partick or Hyndland train stations and just take the train?
We used the train to charing cross and then walked 15 minutes. Was sunny today though.
Didn't think it was a rip off at all. We paid £6.50 admission (CCC voucher). Had a full day looking at heaps of bans, motor homes and statics. Bought fish and chips for £6 (good sized portion of fish, too). Cannot grumble.
It's essential that they charge, otherwise the place would be totally mobbed if it was free. It's busy enough as it is, waiting for others to leave a van before it's your turn.

As organisers of the Scottish Caravan, Holiday Home and Motorhome Home Show, you can all imagine that we're as frustrated by the venue parking information as you are! If you're coming first thing tomorrow (Sunday), head for the new multi-storey car park (signed as Hydro & SECC parking) immediately adjacent to the new Hydro Arena at the front of the SECC. If you're a blue badge holder or if your vehicle is over 1.9m high, head to the 'back' of the SECC where you will have access to parking. We've put on golf buggies to transport you back and forward to the show. Fife Bloke is right: you can park at the Science Centre and walk across if you bring your umbrella! Thank you all for your patience: we're working with the venue to try and resolve for future years.
------------- Scottish Caravan, Holiday Home & Motorhome show
A better idea for future years would be to move the event to ingleston Far better access and a massive hall there as well. If wwe can have wrestling there, then I'm sure a caravan show could be held there too

Not long home from a brilliant day out at the show. Parked in the science centre at 10 am plenty parking there available, £3 for the duration, walked the 5 min walk to the secc and that was it.
Was sorely tempted by a 6 berth swift which had a superb layout, but the 20k price tag kinda put me off a bit.
Got some stuff from the farmers market, kids had fun at the action zone and loved a salesman trying some hard sell on a 145k static.
Can't wait for next years now
