Thanks guys, you have confirmed what I thought and we'll definitely run some Puriclean through. Like most of you, we don't use the water to drink but do use it for teeth cleaning and pot washing so don't want any nasty bacteria in there.
Our present caravan had a standard Truma filter which we removed and happily managed without but the new one has got an in-line one. Has anyone had any experience of removing one of these? Is there usually enough hose to join up again or will we need a connecting bit?
Thanks again.

Open it up and remove the filter inside and then put it back together. No need to remove the whole unit. Problem solved.
We just got our brand new van and I flushed it through with a couple of aquarolls, and having now used the van for the last two weekends its fine.
However, we don't drink the water in the taps (apart from cleaning teeth) and always use a large Brita water filter jug in the van for drinking as we do at home!
