So in quick summary, you are happy with the answers on your waste connection, but still looking for more info on your electrics cos you are not sure whether everything runs off EHU when you are hooked up (sorry, typing on phone so can't look back in thread once I'm replying)?

The bailey handbook is garbage. It tells you whats there but not how to do/run things. Electrics wise, you have to look/read/understand the electrical diagrams given for the 12 and 230v systems. They havent intertwined them. I would like to throttle the writer as they "assume" you know what they are implying. On the BCA unit there are 2 large rocker switches with red and green on the top and bottom.....meaningless unless you know what circuit they switch on/off. The book doesnt say of course. Nor does it say that if you have EHU it automatically charges the battery and supplies power to the 12v circuit BUT only if you select van...I hope/think. Again, the book doesnt tell you that. And when driving put the rocker switch to car and then the fridge to 12v, BUT does that draw off the house battery and does the car charge the house battery or go direct to the fridge. But what position are the large rocker switches to be in....grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Was hoping another bailey bordeaux owner could tell. I suspect if I rang a dealer, the first question might be....did you buy from us........etc etc.
When driving switch the fridge to 12v and the rocker switch to car as you said above. The fridge will take the 12v from the car not the battery in the van. The car will send 12v to the battery for charging and to the fridge whilst the engine is running. This assumes that you have twin sockets on the car or it has the new 13 pin connection fully wired.
Why did you not ask how everything works in the caravan that is the main thing (did you check it out for damp ?)
When we had our Bailey we join the Bailey"s Owner Club you will get to know more about it there .
The worst part of the booklet is that the Bordeaux and the Senator's electrical diagrams are shown together and a tiny asterisk is there to denote which is the senators only BUT theres also the same asterisk for "when fitted only". TO WHICH MODEL. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
I did a similar thing of writing electrical diagrams/circuits and how to implement things in the MOD. If I did something like that, I'd be out on my ear!
Am smiling at reading this as husband has read the manual for our Bailey Pageant Monarch back to front SEVERAL times and it is truly PANTS!
There is no indication when the battery is charging. How are you supposed to know? NOT by the voltmeter on the master switch as that only tells you what voltage is in the battery. Doesn't tell you the battery is charging - there is no amp-meter. Basically, the fuse had blown on our leisure battery and we didn't find out until it was absolutely flat as the proverbial pancake. A simple amp-meter or charge light would be excellent! He is going to fit one himself.
It is an elementary thing really - you REALLY need to know if that battery is charging! OP has our sympathy with his opinion of the Bailey Handbook. Rubbish doesn't come close!
