You say any advice is welcome so my advice is "Enjoy using your Caravan"
Don't worry about things but enjoy it.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
Use a top cover myself, ours is an old van and left 9 months with out use. But the wind got up a couple of weeks ago and wrecked it, will still buy another on though, might use rope instead of bungee cord though!!!

Got a full cover as part of the deal with the caravan, thinking it would keep things as clean as possible, haven't even got it out of the box and probably won't, as the van will get a good exterior clean at the end of the season, plus with all the high winds we have had this year , the last thing I would want is for the cover to damage the van in some way.
