you do not say what year your old van is but a rough guide is the year of the van

IE 2005 = £5000, 2001= £1000 but make minor adjustments for any extras going with the van you cannot use in new van like awnings, motormovers etc

If van has been serviced yearly and passed every time add an extra £500 you can always haggle                                                                                  this is rough guide to retail price of van. dealer will always want to make at least two grand on resale of your van                                                                                                If you want more but he want budge offer 2 grand less on new one he might knock £1000 to £1500 of new one but not give you more for old one as they have built in proffit margin on new vans.                                                                                                                         Sounds weird I know but last van but one I got more off new van but he was adamant he would not give me more for my part EX

Many thanks to each and everyone of you for your kind and knowledgeable replies.
We part x our van at Kimberley caravans, I feel we got a good deal the more I think about it!
Old swift was valued at book price, but we did get a good discount off a brand new challenger sport!
We had an excellent hand over at the Darlington Branch, the guy was really very helpful and took his time ensuring we went away happy!
looking forward to our first stay next week
Cheers
Kostas

The dealer we used last year (Tilshead) and maybe using again give us a part ex value on the quote but if between agreeing to purchase a van and collection, if we sell our old van then they just add the part ex value back on. Bit of a win win as if sell we make more, if not we still get a new van and not have to worry on having to store 2 vans.
