We have 2 sleeping bags zipped together to make a double with cotton sheet lining so as to wash when required.
A couple of years ago we purchased a mattress topper from Aldi, and placed that under the sleeping bags to lay on. To stow away we rolled that up like a swiss roll & place under the seating as we have to make the bed up each time of use. It works a treat & we have just bought another topper from the same place so now we twice the comfort!
Our van is a small 12ft Abbey. Our topper gets rolled up each morning and is left in the awning to save the effort of putting it in a seat locker each time. If weight is an issue, find something else that you don't really need and leave it at home. A good nights sleep is well worth losing a bit of kit.

Thanks all! Duvalays sound good, but still bulky and heavy. We got a caravan to make life easier as we are getting older and creakier! Can't face all that mattress topper folding/rolling every day! We'll get there with a solution we can cope with I should think! Thanks again.
Buy two single mattress toppers. Don't fold roll or put them away... leave on top of the seats and put a throw over them... then you can sit on them by day, and sleep on them at night. That's what I do!
