What???

The only 2 things I don't use at the same time are the kettle and the microwave. Everything operates on electric, with gas being used only for the cooker/oven.

And that applies whether it's January or July!

There is a device I have seen which has to be wired in. It basically sits in the caravan and you set the amperage of the unit to an amp below the EHU. This will enable the box to trip without the EHU tripping - Saving you having to go out into the cold to reset the EHU.

I do think a display showing how many amps are being used should be fitted to all caravans.

I have never had a problem, I once tripped the power (10 amps) that was two years ago on a very cold January evening. It was easy to go and reset it but on some caravan sites the trip seems to be in a locked box so it has to be the staff who reset it.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

If a meter was fitted it would be either accurate(expensive) or within 10% (as much use as a chocolate fireguard)
The best way is to check the rating plate on your appliances, these will state the full load amps.
My heater uses 2.3A/4.5A/9A
water heater 3.7A/5.7A
Kettle 9.6A
I can't be arsed switching heater or water heater off to put the kettle on so if the EHU can't supply enough for all 3 at the chosen power setting I will run heater/water heater on gas.

If you are buying a drinking a good vodka put the bottle in the freezer like they do in Finland. It won't freeze if it's a good Vodka and then there's no need for the ice cubes

Is that referring to running two leads from the camp site EHU Supply?
Have I missed a reference to paying double for (set nightly fee) EHU or is it metered, so all will be paid for anyway? Would it be wise/polite to discuss/agree this approach with site management beforehand? Or have I simply mis-read the whole post? Apologies if so.

The way I've read it, it comes across as a little "naughty"!!
