We're away on our 4th trips of the year already. Couldn't care less about the weather !

Last time the kids were on the swings when it was persisting done, they couldn't care less either.

The great outdoors, more likely wet than dry in the uk

We've just come home a day early from North Devon as fed up with the gales and downpours. We didn't even get our awning up as it was too windy for the 2 of us to manage. The only nice day we had was Wednesday where we actually managed a t shirt but was too chilly for shorts when we left the site in the morning.
My daughter at home in Essex was saying how hot it was, so after torrential rain most of the night, we decided to head home. It's absolutely glorious here, so may be able to relax in the garden tomorrow before back to work next week.
We are getting a new van too, so van has had to be emptied, my it surprising what you have in there, and it will have a good clean tomorrow before px it.

We're off tomorrow for a week. Hoping to get a few nice days of weather. Don't think we will have any trips later in the year as our first grandchild is expected late September! I dont really care about the weather, as long as its ok to tow in!

Well I am trying to erect 8 posts in the garden. The area I want them in is under 6 inches of water so I cannot see the surface, never mind dig any holes.

Once these are in, I have another 24 posts to erect and only after these are sited will I get a chance to get away on a trip.

I utterly despise the wind and the rain, especially when I'm away for a hard earned weekend , that's what winter is for. Yet every single time i think about going away or am actually away recently the weather is abysmal. It's June 6th and I have had to put my heating on for goodness sake.
It's when it's like this you wonder if it's all worth it. Awning gets soaked or damaged if it even gets put up at all that is, kids get bored sitting in the van playing te same games or watching tv/DVDs.
Got another weekend booked in three weeks and a week in July to come, if these are washouts too, then I'll be honest the vans future is in jeapordy. No pleasure in that whatsoever.
Rant over

I agree with you,but here in mansfield for the last 2 days has been reallyhot, ive even had to take my fleece off.No poxy weather will make me part with my pride and joy.Yes its nice when the suns out,but its also about being out and about and away from the everyday grind.Just doing what you want when you want.Stuff the weather, just enjoy being away.It seems a bit laim us maoning about the weather when others have no home or money or future due to the weather we dont get.Be thankful for small mercies.

We have just got back from the worst trip ever to Scotland. 2 weeks of constant wind, rain and even snow up the Cairngorms. Its a beautiful country with spectacular scenery but I am afraid we will be going back to France next year. J x

Sorry to hear that. I was with you on your planning posts. We've had very unseasonal weather this year, even for Scotland. Most of the UK, apart from the South have had it bad. I do hope you had something nice to remember us by. And dont let it put you off forever, it really isnt always so bad.

We spent two weeks in Northumberland at the end of April beginning of May. It was very cold and very windy but it only rained a couple of times.,
We then went for a week in Keswick, it just rained on and off the whole week and it was cold and windy, Last week we were in Keswick again. At the beginning if the week it was blowing a gale and pouring down. It began to get slightly better on the Wednesday. By Thursday we could actually sit outside. The first time in four weeks of being away.
We are definitely going south at this time of year next time.Maybe France.

Have been away a number of times, weather so so and changeable but mostly fine, high winds early last week calming towards weekend. However over the weekend had to put sun screen on grandchildren (not the first time this summer)as it was quite warm, yes warm enough to sit outside though I found it a bit nippy in the evening.

Feeblecat, we had the bank hol weekend in Edinburgh and the weather was good but went downhill after. Got soaked cycling from Killin on what was a very scenic path. Bunree was ok apart from the rain and we did the tourist thing and went on the train to Mallaig, freezing up there. Cycled up neptunes staircase and down to Gairlochy. Moved to North Ledaig and was nearly blown into the sea, high wind and torrential rain. The last day, the sun came out and we went to Tobermory. We are retiring soon and will be able to go when we can see the weather is settled. So maybe the year after next we will give it another go. J x
