The damage is all over, it showed up better there because of the evening sun.

i now await with interest an explanation as to why the roof is like that.. it looks more a manufacturing thing to me.. if it is it cant be the only one like that..

I think I would feel highly suspicious and wouldnt feel right about it so would have to reject he van but thats just me. If you are comfortable with it being like that and as you say you paid top price I would certainly want some money back.

Its such a shame as it puts the dampener on what should be an enjoyable time.

Didn't see the roof join, it is just a tape over the sealent so seems to be just cosmetic but even so...

Here is another view, it looks like either heat damage or a manufacturing problem. I don't suppose anyone has a Challenger Sport from 2012 that could have a quick look at their roof please?

i dont design caravans but i dont like the way the roof is made.. too flat.. too many lights and yards and yards of seams that could leak unless perfectly sealed..

the whole design looks like a leak waiting to happen somewhere down the line..

my old caravan has a fibre glass lid (roof) on top with seams that overlap the sides its not likely to leak even if a seam does fail.. that newer design puts one hell of lot of faith in the seams bonding or however its held together staying perfect..

i think its all made by rolling the thin top sheet onto a foam roof panel with some glue to stick it down.. i think its been like that from new.. it may turn out to be not that unusual as well..

in the sense a roof it there to keep the rain out and not be looked at its probably perfectly okay..

Hi, what was the description of the caravan when advertised by the dealer. just wondering if its already had a poor repair/replacement skin on the roof.

Personally, after the problems my dad has had with his 2012 challenger swift's windows, I'd be angling for my money back.

Been to the dealer today and they think it is minor hail stone damage. To be fair to them it can only be seen if the sun hits at the correct angle, they did check prior to taking it in but missed it. Anyway, they offered a full refund which to be honest I didn't want, and we settled on a partial refund. I'm happy with the outcome and glad the dealer was helpful. Looking forward to my 2 weeks in France now.

Glad to hear it all ended well. They are a nice van, we were close between this and the Bailey we ended up buying. Only thing that swung it baileys way was they depreciate faster so make a better used buy
