This has happened to my parents. Since we were children we have gone on first family caravanning holidays, then as we grew up, we got our own caravans. Now suffering from ill health, they have sold their caravan this year. They do really enjoy the coach tours to different parts of the UK though, and have started to plan a few of those for later on.
I've mentioned your thread on another, someone who especially wants an Adria.
Hi Guys, thanks for all the good wishes. Still on my mandatory 1 month driving suspension, will then follow the procedure and see if I can get back on the road. Doubtful just yet!
Tks Jax for the plug on the other thread, tho somehow I don't really want to see it go, think I'd just as soon sit and look at it on the drive.
Seasonal or local just isn't us I'm afraid, wouldn't bother to hook up unless we're going at least a couple of hundred miles. Tried a static a couple of years ago in Wales but was glad when the week was over.
Jeff, love the video, I'd have one each but oh wont drive one. Do you think I could get to West Wales from E. Kent if I had a genny to charge the batteries ?......Mick
Update, have sold my dear little Adria Action. Was surprised at the response I got, calls from all over the UK and has finally gone to a good home in Devon. Lady bought it without even seeing it but was very happy when she picked it up.
I'm still not driving but hoping to get the ok once I've seen the consultant in a couple of weeks. Whatever happens
I'll still be popping in & out of ukcs and keeping in touch with the world of caravanning. Regards to all....Mick
Hi, mickeyb, glad to hear you are looking forward to getting behind the wheel again - that's a positive sign.
I had a TIA in 2008 whilst in France - about 10:30 pm on a Saturday night. Was in a scanner within an hour, and discharged the following Thursday. I was put on a BP tablet and soluble aspirin, which I still take daily. When I told the French doctor that I was towing a caravan, he said to continue with our holiday, and we finished up in the south of France.
I've just turned 80, and we are shortly off to France again with our van.
Hope you progress well, and maybe you will feel like tugging again in the near future - and best wishes if you do.
Bertie.
