"I'm on a site in the lakes and there are about 6 twin axle vans around me all with no number plates. They are Fendt's and exquisite VIP vans all towed by new BMW's. There are another 8 further up the site also with no plates. I just wondered why they didn't display the reg plate when its law and I'd be pulled straight over if I did it."

But,
There is no such offence as failing to display a Reg Plate, On a camp site.

I find these threads that go on, police will do this or that, quite amusing. Where are these police? I never see them. Fact is we could all tow caravans without numberplates and get away with it.

i think we probably could billy but to be honest i have enough problems finding me without inviting them. he he

having no plate on the back would definitely confuse a gatso and an unregistered one on the front would confuse everyone..

but you are right about the plod thing.. when you see one they are all busy and on a mission.. the chances of getting pulled and checked by one are pretty remote.. too much old fashioned paper work involved..
