yep got to go with ferret ladies attitude ,even if it leads to abuse ,that one person that actually listens to the warning will hopefully be the one that can least afford a repair bill

i was on a recent trip with my job driving our nissan navarra aproaching Antwerp the truck started to feel a little wayward. moments later a guy in a car pulled alongside and pointed to my rear wheel. i looked in the mirror and sure enough i had a tyre going flat. i thanked the guy and pulled up. the guy also stopped and i though i was in for a lecture, however, the belgian pointed me i n the direction of the nearest garage and how to get back on to the E34. what a nice guy. on the flip side i was driving locally with my sons in the car. we were behind a lady at traffic lights with a totally flat tyre on the rear. i tried to flash lights and beep horn but she drove off regardless. i followed her for a while trying to attract her attention she drove into a village and i thought she would pull on to a drive there, it wasnt on a route to anywhere. so i continued my journey only to see the same car again, with a flat tyre. i am guessing she went through the village to give me 'the slip'. no helping some folks.

but on the subject of heki roof lights i saw a caravan on the M5 last week driving in the opposite direction with the roof light open. i also know a guy who lost a roof light whilst driving off with it open.

funny i drove off with my ALKO stabilizer hitch up recently. i stopped for another reason, to switch the fridge to the car supply when i noticed the hitch up.

its easily done, always pays to stop before the motorway is reached to check everything is ship shape.

The thing that I forget is the breakaway cable, Ive pulled up several times and spotted it still tucked away where I store it and not attached to the car.

many years ago I noticed my front marker light went out, I thought its a bulb and carried on.
When I got to my destination it turned out to be the cable dragging on the floor, it had eaten through 2 wires.

Always worth checking if any lights stop working. I always add a twist to the cables now to prevent that happening again.

It cost is nearly £700 to have a new roof light fitted on our Lunar Lexon. A catch worked itself loose as it had not been clicked fully home and that was end of roof light.

Some years ago I was on a motorway in the centre lane about to overtake a caravan in the nearside lane when his skylight flew off. It spun in the air and fortunately went over my car but hit a car travelling in the outside lane. It hit the car edge on just above the front windscreen. I don't think it smashed the screen but he must have sustained some damage I would have thought. Fortunately he kept the car on the road otherwise there could have been a nasty accident.

The fine is quite heavy as you are charged on having an insecure load plus points on your driving licence.
