Those Bio Pods are made for cleaning clothes, not for disinfecting toilets.
I wouldn't have thought they wouldhave much disinfecting properties to them, after all you can now buy washing liquid that disinfects from Dettol, wouldn't have thought they would make a product if every other washing liquid already does the same job.
Like a previous post I have just tried Elsan Superchem Advanced and it is a revelation, no smell, easy clean out and safe for all types of disposal. I used it exactly as per the recommended dose but I had very thoroughly cleaned the holding tank and let it dry out before dosing it up with Superchem Advanced. It was £11.49 for 2lts.
As said by someone else I've also read the long thread on another forum of the use of the bio pods and the supposed good results. They may well break the solids down but do they kill off the very specific germs and bugs that come from toilet waste?
I'm going to stick with the stuff specifically designed for caravan toilets.
If switching to bio please make sure that any trace of the formaldyhide stuff is removed from the tank otherwise this will inhibit the action of the bio fluids. Do this by rinsing the tank thoroughly wth a bleach solution then rinsing. The bio will then work wonders.
