Weather what weather, that's the idea of owning one for me. I don't care if it never stops raining now.
I do feel you kind of lose that camping experience, with a van.

The caravan makes setup and pack up much easier but I still don't want to go away knowing it's going to rain all weekend. We like to get out and explore too. That said if we've booked then we go anyway regardless. Rain on a caravan roof is no better than rain on canvas
I wouldn't say it's small, it's rather a large caravan. But has everything.
In fact my daughters made me choose this layout as to begin with I was against it. Though I wanted the bunks, and the table more up front. But my daughter had to explain to me that I don't mind getting changed where ever but being a girl they did mind. So after having a think about it I agreed they need their own personal changing space etc. Actually it works well.

Hi Lexie71, last thing they said was what dealer would I like to use, and as I don't know any as only just bought the van they're going to find one.
I was a bit out really as I thought I was going to have to have a massive argument like I did with my car, but now nothing ever so good.
Not too bothered at the moment as a lot of people don't notice it until I point it out, doesn't affect the use of the van.

Thanks blo3, I'm just sorting all the stuff out for the pathfinder.
It amazes me how much the pathfinder stores around the kitchen area yet the caravan stores less around that area.
Cutlery draw is half the size, which is a pain. Plus other bits of storage around the kitchen.
But I suppose the fridge makes up for that, means I can carry etc beer ;)
I do think a FC hits the right spot between a tent and caravan with out losing the camping feel and without breaking the bank.
It's just the unpacking packing up that stressed me out, some people i suppose it doesn't bother but for me it did especially with youngsters and getting them ready for school the next day, plus we both work so we don't have a great deal of time.

WE have a similar layout, the double dinette version of this van. I do think your bunk are a better option.
For the issue with lack of cutlery space, which I agree is rubbish (my old van had 4 cutlery drawers). We put empty ice cream tubs at the bottom of the cupboard with the cutlery drawer in. its a bit awkward but better than struggling.
We too love the shower and toilet its a great space, plus if you open the door to wander to the top end of the van wrapped in a towel you are screened from those sat at the front of the van.
Is that a pull out door between the shower and the toilet area? Ours is a folding screen.
