Generally, the more noseweight up to caravan limit the better the caravan will tow so provided you have a towcar that will allow over caravan max noseweight limit then you can put more or less what you want in front locker. So with a heavy 4x4 that allows say, 140kg on towbar then ok.
The problems may come when you try to tow a heavy caravan with a car that only allows 75kg on the towbar, thats when you may get poor stability that can only be corrected by increasing noseweight so rendering towcar unsuitable even though weight wise it can legally tow the caravan.
So sensible idea would be to increase noseweight for better tow within limits of caravan/car. This is why US caravans that are only towed by trucks & US size Suv's have axles set further back than European caravans.
The nose weight point is not strictly true opensauce, the max nose weight for any van with an Alko stabiliser is 100KG, irrespective of what your car max weight is.
Have just changed our standard 6kg propane cylinder for the 'Lite' version (which costs only £3.00 more than the heavy one so is a "no-brainer" as far as I'm concerned).
Also only take one cylinder even though there is room for two because we're never away long enough to be likely to run out. That immediately saved me 16kg or so.
Apart from that, watering can (for filling toilet flush), wellies, and the gas spanner.

If the car and caravan are bouncing a bit, like the caravan is trying to catch up with the car, is that generally the nose weight is to heavy??
It could be - that sounds like pitching (front to back). however could be a number of other reasons. you just need to aim for max noseweight for your outfit ideally 5/6% of loaded weight and ensure heavy items over axles low down
just as important to check tyre pressures on car and van and loading in car is Ok
Op needs to post up full details of towcar & caravan weights. As pointed out, could be incorrect tyre pressures or even hitch damper had it or car rear shocks worn/leaking.

I've read it a few times and I still think it reads you saying it's OK to go over the max caravan weight if your car allows.
