If you purchased it on a finance deal ( we got our car on finance to get a great deal the after 3 months paid off the finance !) get in contact with the finance company then if it goes pear shaped with the dealer let the finance co sort the mess out in getting a replacement !

I too would reject the van asap. A new van never feels the same when it's been repaired. Please don't let them fob you off with one promise after another. Ask for your money back and you may be able to pick up a new van already on site from another dealer.
I agree from experience a van thats been repaired never feels the same and you will always be on tender hooks as to what else is going to go wrong

So i returned the van yesterday and told the dealer either I get a new replacement or a refund. They said they would talk to Swift and let me know. I refused a repair outright. Lets see what happens.
Once again the contract is with the dealer not Swift, what the dealer does with the van is no concern of yours, either they replace it or give you your money back.

We did that with a problem new Swift Caravan after twelve months of backwards and forwards to the dealers. When 60% damp was found on one side we said enough was enough. We managed to get a replacement new caravan.
The U.K. caravan industry really is taking the biscuit ( i wanted use another word but know doubt would have been in trouble ). It's time they got their act sorted - It's Like British Leyland Friday afternoon specials all over again !!
Yes, I left the van with the dealer. I want to give them a chance to put this right but I did vent my feelings as to why these issues were not picked up during the “DPI” and left them with a simple choice, a new van or a refund plus additional costs.
Really disappointed as initially we loved the van, I passed my B+E test this morning ready to take it away for the first time this weekend. Not likely now! So will have to disappoint my 2 very excited kids!
I simply cannot beleive this, i just had a phone call from the dealer who said upon inspection they found a crack in the rear panel that was not there before i purchased the van and they accused me of bumping it!
They had spoken to Swift who said they are willing to do the repairs but will not offer a replacement. The dealer will not offer a replacement because i had accepted the condition upon purchase.
They also deny there were any cracks to the front panel during the PDI inspection.
Did you purchase the van on finance ?
Get them involved
If not then go straight to your local trading standard dept or get a Swift approved mobile engineer to undertake a full report on the van - you will have to pay this
Doesn't surprise me that the dealer is trying to wriggle out the deal ! Shame on them.
Try not to lose heart.Make sure you put everything in writing and keep a record of all corespondance. If they were calling me a lier that would make me real mad .Also think you will need to get your own report on the van to disprove what they are saying that you have caused the damage.Good luck
Tommy.
I've submitted a complaint to the finance company and asked the dealer to email me the details of the telephone conversation we had. I also asked for all correspondence in email format from now on. What they don't know is I took a photo of the rear of the van on Sunday, no visible cracks are present so if there is damage it was either caused from towing or whilst it was on their property.
