So after a good nights sleep I have decided that the deals offered yesterday were not that good. I'm not PX, am paying cash (realise dealers get a bit with finance) but other than a free mover, offered by the manufacturer, that was the only discount. Delivery charge, starter packs all priced as extras. I can only assume that sales are doing great at the show so they do not need to move on the price.
Am I being unrealistic to expect a few freebies/ discount on price? The other reason for holding off is the best price given was from a dealer 100 miles away, I was hoping to buy a bit closer to home. Sad face for now but the deals just didn't feel right at the moment.

Have you thought about second-hand? If you managed to get a 2014/2015/2016 model they might be selling it with all the extras/awning. It would also still be under warranty. Well done for letting your head not your heart rule!
Swift build dates are quite long so ask the dealer when you can expect delivery of it if you decide on a Swift as they build alot of ranges and it can be as late as July/August for delivery dates! We ordered ours end of July as we knew what we wanted so ours is coming from the first batch in Nov/Dec, we were told it would be June/July if we ordered at the show! Weve got a good deal on it so we decided not to go to the show but I wouldn't mind knowing what deals Powrtouch are doing at the show as we want a mover fitted?
The free mover offer from Coachman is not all it seems.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

Sad face to a very very happy face. Just acquired a Coachman Vision 580. It's a dealer special so has lots of added extras along with the Powrtouch mover fitted. Managed to get a decent discount with a few extras.
So glad I took my time and got the right deal. Delivery not until March which nicely coincides with my planned change of car.
Now to find all the kit to go with it :-)

Hopefully you paid the deposit with a credit card? I always advise people to use HP with a huge desposit and minimum repayments over at least 3 years. That way if any issues and the dealer is dragging their feet, you get the finance company to lean on them. Your choice however.
Hi, we paid part of the deposit using a credit card (over £100.00), am I right in assuming that offers some protection?
Slightly unnerved to hear the additional charges for having the mover fitted, we did have verbal agreement twice that this would be included in the final price.
at bobsbabes, very nice van...slightly jealous, maybe something for me to dream of in the future
The offer from Coachman re the mover is that they put £500 towards it, if you're getting a light van that a basic mover will do then all is good.
The van we have ordered needs a mover at £995 so we have to make up the shortfall.

Mumof3021 - section 75 of a finance act makes the credit card co equally responsible as the dealer. This helps if the dealer goes bust .Also if you need legal action you can go via cc co free and appeal against their decision to th financial services Ombudsman free of cost. Even fast track county court proceedings can be expensive even if on diy basis.
