Hi Retired John and ittakestwo.
Can you possibly tell me who fitted your Powrtouch motor movers? I have contacted Powrtouch, who asked me to send photos of the chassis etc and they have told me that there is only about a 5% chance they can fit the Powrtouch Evolution in front of the wheels (they said they would have to use angled fitting plates). It can be fitted behind the wheels but this means I would have to either relocate the spare wheel carrier or take it off and store the wheel in the front of the locker, neither of which I'm keen on. Interestingly, they said the Powrtouch Classic could not be fitted. I'm reluctant to proceed with anyone unless I can get 100% assurance they can fit it in front of the wheels.
Thanks Retired John. Agreed - it's a long way to go.! Spoke with a more local business who fit Reich movers today. The good news is that he is scheduled to fit a Reich Mover to an Elddis 302 at the end of May and will be fitting it in front of the wheels. He says he does not anticipate a problem , so I've booked a date for him to fit one for me early July (soonest he could fit me in!) and agreed I will phone him day after he has fitted the Mover in May to confirm everything is OK. Thanks again for your help.
Ukwings I had mine originally fitted by a mobile caravan engineer - took about 2 hours. It was transferred over by caravan dealership. Must be some mobile caravan engineers round your way. ITT
Thanks ITT. I had started the whole process with a mobile caravan engineer and it was he who pointed out the problem with the chassis configuration and said he was unable to help. He mainly specialised in Truma and had contacted them about our van. I also contacted 2 of the main motor Mover online specialists and sent them photos ,as requested, and neither have replied i.e. they obviously don't want to, or can't, help. Finally, I contacted Powrtouch direct and, again, sent them photos as requested and they told me they thought that there was only about a 5% chance of them being able to fit the Mover in front of the wheels!!! I'm, therefore, hoping the Reich man successfully manages the fit to the 302 at the end of the month!
Thanks for your help.
