The seal around my locker is not a seal, but a woven style trim to cover the edges of the fibreglass around the opening, no risk of cutting yourself or scratches from the edges.

Yes, that's the type of seal I was trying to explain on the caravans I had in my earlier post. I may be wrong then but I thought it rested against the inside of the locker lid to stop the ingress of rain water as well. Sorry if my post was misleading as it probably isn't a seal at all then.
I don't think it's a seal, just a trim to cover the edge of the moulding.
There is a deep channel / lip around the door/ hatch to channel water along the top and down the sides.
Have you checked for a crack or hole in the channel.

Certainly have a rubber seal on the 1990's Seift Challenger we have. I have done a fix on the hinges and it surprised me that the front locker has remained dry for 20+ years.
The wells that hold the gas bottles are broken though, previous owner has sat washing up bowls In a replacements. U use these on site but do not dare when towing. Can you buy replacements?
My Avondale has a front wet locker complete with a well with plastic sides and bottom and factory built drain holes. As a locker its fairly useless. Not big enough for anything except levelling blocks, plastic waste pipes and anything that doesn't rust. By design it appears to be a wet locker, the locker door isn't hinged but is sealed, the locker has never been water tight but I'm sure this was part of the design. The caravan front wall is not damp. I've always been envious of vans with front lockers which I thought to be watertight. One of my regular jobs is to empty, clean and dry the locker.
Would like to thank u all for the comments have taken the caravan back to the dealer today to show them again how wet it had got inside after all the weekend rain.!! Now they have accepted there is a problem with the front locker it has bent out in the middle which is not allowing the seals to connect properly.!! Would like to thank all again.!!

i think you are right about the way the rubber "seal" works.. it relies more on the water channeling around the outside of the opening..
what looks like a rubber seal is there to hide the edges of the molding and to give the door something to rest against and stop it rattling..
having said that even though mine is open at the bottom in the center water dosnt seem to get in there overly much..

Front lockers or rather gas lockers have never been waterproof. There are vents in the floor to let the gas out and the rubber seal in my experience is there to stop the locker door rattling in transit and give a cushion to aid locking.

Glass fibre panel edge trim is commonly used in the kit car world. Plenty in the trim section here:

It is a wet locker in the sense that the gas bottle is there so it has vents in the floor. It's a safety measure but means that wet wellies etc. Can be stored and water will drain out.
But a wet locker doesn't mean leaking from the hatch - that's a defect that should be rectified. Elddis saying it often happens isn't a good excuse, it just means they make shoddy caravans.

Mine's not its as dry as a bone. Store electric cables in there along with a multitude of other things.
