Have to take my hat off to the caravanner I spotted on the A82 on Sunday on my way back from Inverness. At least they were northbound, where at least, albeit cold (it was freezing when I left), it was sunny and no snow at low levels. The nearer I got to Fort William, the worse the snow (which also hid the dire potholes) but my real nightmare was the last 12 miles to the Lochaline ferry - no plough through since early morning and no grit, plus a white-out (pulled off and got into the sleeping bag). Lifted a bit and crawled on - masses of deer on roadside and you can't see white woolly animals called sheep in that kind of weather.
Have to say sick of the weather. Sitting in temperature of 25 in Fuerteventura clear blue sky and stunning scenery.Booked for York at Easter , I’m sure it will be fine and we’ll enjoy, just seems like it’s been a long winter.
