Mine's gone up to £660 per year. What with insurance and servicing costs, plus site fees (ok, we like fully serviced pitches) I worked out it's a bit cheaper to stay in a modern mobile home.

There may be some truth in that Joanna. In my area of Kent at least two storage facilities have closed recently. The one I'm on has expanded its capacity and is slowly filling up. I'm seriously considering selling my van and using mobile homes for my holidays as it seems a cheaper option. We don't use the van often enough now to justify the cost.

AirBNB may be the way forward as cheaper than owning a caravan and many allow pets.
