We have abandoned all hope of using the van for the foreseeable future and we were planning a really hectic season. We have cancelled three van trips and two foreign package holidays and that's only up to june. on the up side the van will be absolutely pristine when we finally get to use it (OH says that it's a shame that I can't knit it a pullover)

We live on a busy A road and I have noticed a slackening of the amount of traffic but not nearly as much as you might expect in the circumstances

The problem is that all too many are ignoring all the advice and just carrying on as normal. A lot of that current traffic is probably people going to clear out all the supermarkets I suspect.

We are keeping our heads down. Like some others here, we are in a village and able to take a stroll along quiet country lanes for a bit of exercise.
Looked at supermarket websites but no chance of getting a delivery. Our neighbour has offered to add items to her list as she has a number of regular deliveries booked and is one of their long term customers. Problem with that, she is also ordering for her mother so we can not ask too much if she is limited to quantity she can order.

In the latest government announcements they are going to be contacting the most vunerable members of the public by letter later this week and are planning to use the Military to provide and distribute food parcels to those considered to be most at risk of dying should they be unfortunate enough to contract the Virus.
There is also going to be plans put into place to ensure that those who need carers to visit their homes get the continuous support they need. Initially 1.5 million people will be in this group, and waill also need not to leave their homes for a period of 12 weeks starting from tomorrow. Support from community pharmacists, medics and supermarket delivery Services where available will also be part of this plan.

I think a lot of people thought they would be the only ones to think of going there. In fairness they weren't to know so many others would.

we have paid for a seasonal pitch this year and unable to get on it

I wonder if there going to be a reduction in fees

I presume not and they will probs claim off of the government as well

even the childminder wants paying although she as shut down and the wife as
to stay at home she said she cant enforce payment   BUT it will ensure they still have a place for my kids

held to ransom in my opinion

Very tricky but Force Majeure might explain it if its in the contract.

The way things are going I think it fairly likely that the whole year could be a no go for Caravanning sadly. Our typical luck we have just naught a new to us caravan. I have fixed all the little niggles but have only towed it from where we got it to the Storeage yard.
We were booked for two weeks at glen Nevis campsite one of our favourites but have been informed they are closed. ( not that we would have went with this going on ) I do feel we all have to follow the guidelines.
The people in the highlands. I have family there are rightly getting mad about people turning up.
I feel however Prince Charles going to a second home in the highlands is a poor choice and example.
When everyone else is being specifically told not to do the self same thing.
I’d also like to say to everyone one here I hope you all stay safe and well.
