If you look at the etching it is a great long combination of letters and numbers, the final series of numbers being the actual caravan's serial number. The letter before that serial number gives you the year. For example, the last letter on mine is "N", which indicates that it was built between September 1991 and August 1992, so it's classed as a 1992 model. The other letters refer to things like the make, which country it was built in, how many axles etc.
