Is that easy to do ?
Also what is everyone's user payload ? Is 133kg very small ?
Ours was done by the dealer when we bought it in 2013, 2011 Elddis xplore 302, cost us £60. It is only a replacement plate to be stuck by the door after the original has been removed. Ours was also 133Kg but went up by 100Kg to 233Kg after the upgrade.
What crazy situation ? You pay for them to simply send you another plate to stick in the side of your caravan ?
Quite worrying when you buy an older second hand caravan with very little or no paper work. You simply trust the plate on the side of the caravan to be correct when who is to say someone hasn't had a plate made up themselves and stuck it on ?
Surely I am simplifying this and there is more to upgrading your MTPLM. ??

Between the brands cost can vary enormously, it also has to be re-certified by the NCC and this is included in the price.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

We were told that ours has a low M.T.P.L.M. to attract the owners of the "smaller" car, the axle and tyres are fully capable of carrying the weight of the upgrade without any modification. Have you checked that the M.I.R.O. is accurate? Mine is not.
This is what my BAiley hand book says is included in the MIRO.
The Following Items are included in the MRO:
• LPG - The mass of the recommended gas storage tank(s) when filled to 100% of the permissible maximum capacity. A mass of 10 kg per
cylinder is assumed and the number of cylinders is equal to the number of connections provided at the regulator.
• Fluids - The mass of the liquids normally remaining in the systems:
1. Water heater system –100% of the manufacturer stated travelling capacity
2. Central heating system – 100% of the mass of fluid in the system
3. Freshwater – 100% of the manufacturer stated travelling capacity (you must travel with all water tanks empty)
4. Waste water holding tank – empty
5. Toilet system flushing tank – 100% of the manufacturer stated travelling capacity
6. Toilet system holding tank – empty
7. Essential fluids for the use of any other items of standard or factory fitted optional equipment – 100% of the manufacturer stated
travelling capacity
• Electricity Supply
1. 4Kg for the low voltage connection cable
This is what Bailey list for typical weights
Typical masses consist of:
Kettle 0.5Kg Aquaroll (empty) 5Kg
Bed Linen 6Kg Waste bin 1Kg
Crockery 5Kg Toilet Fluid 2.5 Kg
Saucepans 3Kg Cutlery 2 Kg
Wastemaster 6Kg Battery 25 Kg
So it is very unlikely you will work out exactly what must be in th van to make it weigh its MIRO.
Ours had a lot of extras and the MTPLM was upgraded, by Baileys without us knowing, from 1090kg to 1150kg to allow for the extra weight of them. The sticker by the door said 1090kg MTPLM, another sticker in the gas locker said 1150kg MTPLM. I emailed them to confirm and they said 1150kg.
Thanks all. I have emailed Elddis so I'll see what they say. Regardless even with the other things you mention navver 8 doubt we will exceed the mtplm.
Novice Norris, we haven't any public weighbridges near us either but our local coalyard is happy to let us use theirs for a nominal fee (donated to charity). Might be worthwhile trying if you've got one in your area.

Unfortunately I have no nearby weighbridges available so in answer to your question, no I can only go by the plate ?!
I have emailed Elddis regards an upgrade just to get the details. I'm not sure if I will bother.
Yorkshire is huge place, give us a clue where you are. As above I have used a scrapyard in Halifax, a builders merchant in Dewsbury and Trading standards in Morley.

If you acquire an older caravan. Crawl underneath there will be a weight rating on the axle. You can plate caravan to that weight using your own made up plate.
I'll take a look tonight Billy. Surprised by Elddis who basically said the only reason they can offer an upgrade on older caravans is that their computer won't let them ???? No other reason offered ?!

Their computer won’t let them because probably it does not hold any records of their older models. There is no commercial reason why they should. As pointed out though no need. Just ascertain max load rating for axle which is stamped on the axle & plate at that weight.
