My caravan insurance still has 6 months to run so I have no idea yet of whether it will have gone up or down, but I always expect everything to go up. It will be a pleasant surprise if it hasn't.
As my caravan is ancient, my premium isn't much anyway. I don't think the total premium was more than £60 last year with C&CC ClubCare.
Doubt I could get new for old on a 30 year old caravan.

Have a look at top cashback. I got my insurance for £105 and got £35 back. And that was new for old as well. That’s obscene what you have been quoted
Really! I thought I was doing quite well at under £60 a year. No way I'm ever going to get new for old on my 30 year old Elddis though.

Market value policy was £70 but cashback was less. Was happy with the deal I got. Due again in June so will see what my renewal is, won’t get cashback from them this year as it would be a renewal, so will likely change companies to benefit from the cashback again
I always do a comparison every year on my caravan insurance, as I do with just about everything else that the comparison sites cover. ClubCare have given me the best deal over the past 3 years, but if someone else gives me a better one this year, I'll go with them.

I use Cover4Caravans...my premiums actually reduced this year by 11%
I have been insuring my van with Cover4Caravans for a few years now - 2003 Swift Accord 390. Market value cost me around £70 in October which was the same as last year.
Ive shopped around, and got a better price from Frank Pickles. The thing thats also selling it, is the storage issue. Caravanguard say it has to be either at your home, or in storage. And if the latter, you can only bring it home for a night or two to prepare for trips. Whereas FP just say it can be at one or the other without time constraints. Anyone else come across this scenario?
Hi Mrs. Bonce
No, I’m not sure of the current value of the caravan, i bought it new Feb 18 , Swift Elegance 645 , I did order at the show which was fitted by the dealer prior to collection, Teleco roof mounted Satellite and Powertouch AWD electronic engage movers. It also came as a show offer with air conditioning unit.
I no doubt will be told what it is worth at the show next month, as I am going with a view to either changing the van for a motorhome, or replacing with a new caravan. I still haven’t made my mind up yet.
I just don’t understand why there should be a 20% hike in one year on the insurance with the Caravan and Motorhome `Club , when I have been with them for years and never had a claim, particularly as we all haven’t been able to use them as much this year with lockdown restrictions?
Had the renewal arrive this morning fron the CC and having been following this thread I was fearing the worst.
But it was alright I thought, it's only up by £23 and this is with me changing to a much more expensive new caravan in November.
I still think I will get a couple of quotes and go back to the CC and see if they can do better.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

I had this out with caravan guard as I usually bring it home the week before to clean then pack it ready for the off, so mine has dual parking on the policy for now extra cost

The CAMC should be lower than many other mainstream insurers as you do not pay the premium tax as they do not sell insurance yet the CAMC are the same or higher with their quotes.
I am convinced that insurers just pluck a figure out of the air when they give quotes. Probably just to see what they can get away with. There doesn't seem to be any logic to it as far as I can see. I don't know whether it's the same with caravan insurance but with car insurance one insurer will "like" one particular make and model, but another will "hate" it and offer a ridiculously high quote when they were very reasonable with a previous make and model. There is no consistency.
At least I don't have to worry with my caravan insurance because my caravan is very old so the cost of insurance is peanuts. There is probably no more than a couple of pounds difference between the highest and lowest quotes I could get. That's certainly what I have found so far anyway.

Well after going through comparison websites and checking others who do not participate in such sites, CC still comes out the cheapest in some cases by some margin.
One company would not even quote unless I had a tracker fitted.
