Hi Cant believe there is so many windrushs out there. It's fantastic to see old vans still out and about. Unfortunatly though i am being a bit of a traitor i am selling my van as just bought a trailer tent only reason is the van has an old type stabaliser which i am unable to put on on my own and i cannot reverse or push it into place on my ownb and wish to be able to just get up and go when i feel like it without having anyone else there other wise i love the old dear hoping someone will give it a good home.
Kay 123 hope you enjoyed your first towing how did it go? I can remember mine i was so scared heard all about snaking etc was surprised at exactly how easy it was.

Hello,
We have just bought a Cotswold Windrush 132/2 We know nothing about Caravans,We have been campers until now. We have never towed before either. The Caravan is just great. It has all its original features. It dry, cosy and quirky but we haven't got a clue. We would like to give it a bit of TLC, mainly the outside, but don't know where to start. The Windrush Caravan Club is updating its site at the moment. Has anyone any ideas on what we should start with?

Hi John,
Thanks for replying. We have now been told our Windrush is even older than we thought, about 1974-76. If she is then she is in pretty good nick for her age, I wish I had worn so well ! I've put a couple more pictures up. Her upholstery is in great condition and is quite livable with even the matching 'ginger' curtains. Everything, water Heater, Fire and Oven and Grill appear to be working but we have booked her in for a complete service next week. We thought it was the best place to start. The Window frames look a bit naff, I was going to find a chrome cleaner but on closer inspection they look as if they have been coated white at sometime. I tried to access your site but I can't seem to find it.
Regards
Sue

Hi John,
I got your site no problem through the profile and then I realised that I was missing off the http://ty bit when I tried via Explorer Sorry! Your Windrush is lovely. It's bigger than ours we don't have a side kitchen window and our wardrobe and fridge are the opposite to yours. Windows and back and front look the same except for your locker thing on the front, thats bigger too. We have the Windrush flying logo thingy on the front. I've put 3 pictures up on the profile. Any tips on cleaning the exterior and the window trims and stuff would be much appreciated as is your time taken to reply. We have just sent off our form to join the wWndrush club and I have bookmarked AceSystems in case we need anything. I'm sure someone somewhere will be able to date our little caravan. Your Photo's of your trips away are super. Hopefully one day we might have the guts to attempt abroad. We haven't even towed it yet as the hitchlock was rusted on lol. It's getting cut off on monday. We haven't even towed a trailer before never mind a caravan.
Thanks
Sue

Hi,
Weve had our 1974 Windrush for 4 years and absolutely love her! The pic shows her before her makeover last year, we will post new pics soon.
We have also recently joined the Windrush Club and had a fantastic first rally in Staffs with the club.
Check out their site www.windrush-caravan-club.co.uk
Its great to see others still enjoying theirs.

Hi,
We are going to the AGM Rally in September. So hopefully we will see some other Windrushes. Ginger is looking much smarter now that we have cleaned her up and done some work.

Just joined this forum and , so I thought I would just say hello to you all.
also have a Windrush13/2 mine is a 1985 model in very good condition for its age. but it has now been put into storage. just on the start of the touring season both the side windows have been smashed. it was out of insurance as I was looking to change so thats that for us for a while.
I have made some tempory windows from perspex and they work but ideally need to find a set of windows. does anyone know of a 13/2 being broken?
wouldn't it be nice if the spares could still be had but I have contacted Swift who bought Cotswold out without any luck. they could not tell me if these windows were used on any other model so I am stuck when some come up on e-bay. people have different ways of measuring them
but never mind if the sun shines I will get out this year.
Nick

Hi Nick,
Sorry I have been on holiday, just got back last night!
There have been several Windrushes on Ebay recently going for not very much money. We toyed with the idea of buying one and using parts but it wasn't really practical for distance and storage etc but it may be an idea for you.

Hi Susie
Thanks for the reply. I have seen the Windrushes on e-bay but they were taken off by the seller before bidding had finished.
the windows are an odd size for this caravan and many of the breakers do not seem to have them. it could be a good thing that they were so well built, a sign of craftmanship. I have tried to find if once the windrush was discontinued, if the windows that were unused were put into any other caravan but no one has come back with any suggestions as yet.
the single glazed perspex seems fine but I would still like to locate the correct ones, so the search goes on.
I noticed that the windrush club website is still under construction, I was hoping it had a members forum which as many windrush owners would be part of that they would be more knowledgable if and when any parts came on the market
if the sun shines enough I will get away this year.
Nick
