You may have read adds from a company advertising Motor Movers fitted for £795 during the month of May. I have contacted Powrtouch and they will honour their price-match promise against this.

P.S. I have just ordered one from Powrtouch on the strength of that.

I ordered the Powrtouch too in the end. Their price match, and 5 year warranty swung it for me. Got to say service was superb, and the mover is now fitted, and it's great. The Milenco wheel clamp fitted with no problem at all

Shame I cant enter our competition to win one though and get my money back!

Ian

Excellent, thanks for all your answers, seems my concerns are unfounded, just need to decide which mover to go for.

Ian

Hi Ian

We have the Truma but if I had to change movers I would go for the Mk 2 however I would say a lot depends on the type of caravan that you have.  If you have a twin go for the Mk2, if not your options are open.

Cheers,

Ian

Ian

Bit late now but I have a Reich Mover and up until the summer of last year had a Milenco wheel clamp. Unfortunately whilst in France last year the Milenco got jammed and it took me a day to get it off (see website for gory details!). Since purchased the Bulldog Euroclamp.

Dave,

Funny you should mention that your Milenco got jammed.  Was this because of a problem with the actual wheel clamp or was it because of a jam relating to the motor mover.  We have the Milenco and we always have difficulty fitting it on because you have to turn the lock to get it on and at times the lock will not turn and you cannot get the clamp on or off.  Seriously considering changing it for another type of wheelclamp

Dave - this a very late reply 01/03/2007 to your post 04/05/2006 an may be too late to help you!!

I had probs with my Milenco. I found that depressing the key hole helped. But the main problem was putting it together on the wheel. As you know the edges are supposed to slide over each other but in practice they butted up to each other so the clamp could not be pushed together.

But 10 minutes on the work bench solved the problem. With a pal - more engineering minded than I am - we used a file to sharpen up those edges so that they slid over one another. Has worked without hassles for two years. I do give it a light oiling every so often.

Ian, I think you can rest assured that the wheel clamp you show in your post will definitely not interfere with the fitting of a mover.

Bertie.

The best thing about the Alko built in wheelcamp is not having to use the Milenco three in one instrument of torture.

Better late than never !

We have the Reich twin axle mover on a 2005 Spectrum, I had to sell my Bulldog Euroclamps after the Movers were fitted, because you could not get the keys in to remove them. I now use a couple Bulldog QD44's (one on each rear wheel)

We've just had a powertouch ftted on our van, we had this fitted so we can nose the van into our drive & hitch it to a steel post I've concreted it with a hitch on it.  we have a series5 pageant provence & it got pinched on march 1st. To increase our security, we had the axle adapted to take the Al-Ko wheel lock, this is a serious lock & I hope it's worth the money. The series 6 has the ali wheels & receiver needed as standard. If you have the receiver on your axle I'd suggest you fit the Al-Ko lock instead of the milenco you show a picture of. If I knew how to post pictures on here I'd show you our milenco, identical to yours, after the grubby swines who pinched our van off the drive had finished with it. The twisted it off like a coathanger & threw it in the hedge.

I was thinking of fitting a Bulldog Titan to the other wheel, now you suggest possible problems with the mover in place I'l have to think again. The powertouch is impressive, we had ours fitted by the dealer who sold us the van, we have somewhere to go if we have a warranty issue.

Thanks for posting this, you might have saved me buying a wheelclamp I can't use.
