hi yes that was me. but this time i have a mate who is goner get caravan and place on a site for seasonal pitch so i aint got to keep moving it. we might go with shorefields.
I have to say if his van is worth £3k he isnt going to sell it for £500, unless he is mad - All he has to do is cancel the auction before it finishes and thats that! Thats why he has a reserve.
I am sure given time you will find a van in your budget - One suggestion would be to wait until the end of the season - Now we are into this season you will be paying a premium for anything on offer
hi im highest bidder on ebay again for a 4/5 berth caravan its old but it will do. 675 but only has part awning can u buy a new one and use that or does it mean that it only has part one. ?
Hi Tessa ......... if you are thinking of having you new van on a permanant pitch, getting an older one may be a problem ......... some sites don't take vans over 8yrs old ......... we were turned down for 2 sites with our 87 van
Not wanting to be negative, just letting you know the policy of some site
Tessa don't bid on ebay until the last minute if you can be around when the listing is finishing, I always bag my bargains that way, keep on looking you will find something in the end.
Have you tried phoning some local dealers, some get old ones in in trade up and just want to get rid of them at not much more than they gave, just taking up space they can fill with newer vans.(that's how we got ours but we had to pay £1,200) You probally won't get a warenty but you wouldn't on ebay and but at least you will be able to take a look at it and they usually have to give it a safety check. They may take your details and call you if something comes in. Be carefull of buying something on Ebay that you haven't looked at as we looked at a few and they were awful and yet they looked great from the pics. Hope you get something nice.
Just a thought, and I know you are probally set on a van but our tent cost £400 brand new ( 9 berth ) it had tons of room for the kids. We sold it second hand for £250 so if you don't get anywhere with a van it may be worth considering other options. We used to put a van on a site all season and to be honest it did cost a lot and we got a bit board. With a tent or trailer tent you could do a couple of weeks at a time on lots of differnt sites and it would fit in the car. Just an idea. Wish you well in you hunt.
------------- why is it that peeps into caravan and camping have no problems with the peeps next door never a problem we pull onto our pitch to be offered tea or help ercting the awning /tent maybe if the country lived in caravans and tents there would be no problems in life ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
