Yes soon after we began caravanning about 10 years ago when we have an Avondale Malvern and towed with a Peugeot 505 estate.
We got stuck on a very steep hill near Kyle of Lochalsh in NW Scotland. Too busy chatting, so missed hill warning road signs. Came arond sharp bend very steep hill, missed gears. Only got a little way up hill before got stuck. Just been on CC manoeuvring course so tried all their suggestions.
Me and 5 kids 7-14 yrs pushing while wife drove - Still stuck
Plus Jacknifed van so that car not pulling all its weight immediately, no success
Plus wheel chocks tied on to rear grab handles with string, so that no need to stop and pick them up - no success
By then large queue of traffic stuck behind and VERY KIND and multinational group of motorists all joined in pushing - approx 10 adults.
Success at last but kids and I had to RUN AFTER outfit up hill as told wife not to stop. NEARLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK by time she could stop and wait for us at the summit.- I'm not too fit!!!
LOL to think of it but NOT funny at the time. We were very careful of hills after that. Now tow Avondale Landranger twin-axle but with a Vauxhall Monterey 4x4. In the last 10 years been all over Europe - some big hills but never stuck again.
That one and only time was due to my:
Inattention to road and warning signs
Lack of experience
Extreme circumstances
So don't worry just take care and watch the roadsigns!!
